CHEM 103 General College Chemistry I

Chemistry is defined as the study of matter and the changes, both physical and chemical, that matter may
undergo. This course, first in a two-part sequence, examines and develops the basic underlying concepts that
explain what matter is and how it is defined. Emphasis will be placed on atomic and molecular structure,
bonding, molecular geometry, and the physical states of matter. Three hours lecture, one hour pre-lab,
four hours laboratory-quiz section.
