The Department of Communication teaches its students about the nature of media and human communication.  Students learn the history of media, how we consume media and what our responsibilities are as users and creators of new and emerging media.  Students develop an understanding of the many facets of human communication; interpersonal, intercultural, small group, mediated and team.  Students also learn to write and create for the many platforms of media: newspaper, magazine, websites, television, radio and social media.  The skill set developed in the the Department of Communication allows students to become leaders in their field of study, social change agents in their community and trailblazers in the ever-changing arena of communication.
