Requirements for a Major in Criminal Justice Studies

Required core courses:  CJS. 210, 307331444, 445; SOC. 101, 205, 306, 410, 419, PLUS choose three courses (nine credits) from the following: CJS. 341, CJS. 415, CJS. 423, PHIL 320, PHIL 432PSYC 410.
Required related coursesPSYC 304 and MATH 205.  Criminal Justice Studies majors must also complete six credits of a foreign language (Spanish is recommended) or satisfy the Bellarmine College Bachelor of Arts foreign language proficiency requirement.
 
Double Majors:
  • Double majors in Criminal Justice Studies and Sociology take the SOC. 410 and SOC. 419 research methods sequence, but must take six additional hours in the Criminal Justice Studies discipline.
  • Double majors in Criminal Justice Studies and Psychology:
    • may take PSYC 310 and PSYC 311 in place of SOC. 410 and SOC. 419, but must take an additional six hours in the Criminal Justice Studies discipline.
    • may take SOC. 410 in place of PSYC 310, but an additional three hours must be taken in Psychology.
