1870-2000 Global Perspective of the Recent Past:

Course Description

Global Perspectives of the Recent Past: 1870-2000 is an introductory course that asks how we - as individuals and as groups - construct and define our various national histories in an international context? How do economic events in one part of the world affect fiscal issues in another location? How do issues of identity (race, religion, class, gender, etc.) intersect with politics? These questions and others will be asked as this course analyzes major events in modern and contemporary history through a chronological and thematic lens.
