Course Title
Introduction to Health Humanities Studies
Course Description
This foundational interdisciplinary course uses Paul Crawford's seminal text, Health Humanities, to introduce students to basic concepts in health humanities theory, which will be necessary for their progression in the Health, Culture, and Compassion minor. The course requires students to begin to examine health and the human condition through a variety of lenses: anthropology, history, literature, linguistics, the creative and performing arts, and philosophy. This examination prepares them for the integration of creative practice and health which occurs in other courses in the program.
