Foundations in Biology
Course Description
Life history strategies from evolutionary and ecological perspectives will be introduced in order to demonstrate the roles of each through a diverse array of organisms. An introduction to organismal diversity will include the flora, fauna and microbial life across a variety of biomes to establish a wide framework of "big picture" concepts for students. Assigned readings will be discussed at regular intervals to expose students to foundational pieces in biological literature. This course is intended for science majors, but non-majors with special interest are invited.
