This course explores one of our most popular forms of visual storytelling: the graphic novel, or sequential art. With attention to narrative, aesthetic, historical, and thematic elements, this course will introduce students to how comics tell stories through words and images, and offer students the critical skills necessary to read and understand a diverse range of work.
