This course will serve as an introduction to the diverse student groups that make up almost half of the undergraduate population in the United States. Students will take an in-depth look at the academic, social, and economic challenges and opportunities faced by first-generation, low-income, non-traditional students, and minority students. The course will create awareness and understanding of the primary resources required for student success and best practices for serving and retaining community college students.
