This course will introduce students to the fundamental skills of media writing. It will serve as an entry-level course for communication majors to establish a framework for professional writing. It will focus on the essential newswriting practices and principles of information gathering, assessment, writing, and editing that are required to thrive as a writer in any medium. This course will use the AP Style Manual and include numerous writing assignments.
