ENGL-100

This course will prepare students to succeed in future courses in the core curriculum and their majors by introducing fundamental writing concepts and skills. Topics covered will include active reading, summary, synthesis, response, and research-based argument. In addition, students will practice formulating thesis statements and topic sentences, will become familiar with different strategies for organizing a paper, and will learn about how to locate credible sources and incorporate material from those sources into their own writing while avoiding plagiarism.
