Environmental Science
Course Description
This course is designed as a core curriculum natural science course for non-majors. The class focuses on environmental responsibility by exploring the earth's ecological systems and considering ways that human populations interact with the natural world. Topics focus on problem-solving and solution-building and include the areas of natural resource conservation, sustainable development, agriculture, biodiversity, renewable energy, global climate change, environmental health, and environmental justice. Students will integrate principles from the physical, biological, and social sciences as we examine causes and seek solutions for current environmental issues. Three hours lecture, two hours laboratory.
