Medical Emergencies

Course Description

This course introduces the student to possible medical emergencies they may encounter in working as an exercise science professional. Interventions considered are the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and use of an AED (automated external defibrillator). In addition, students will learn initial layperson management of environmental, injury, and medical emergencies. Upon course completion, student will be eligible to become an Amercian Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED provider or the American Red Cross First Aid CPR, dependent upon the instructor.
