Program Description

The Public Health minor reflects the interdisciplinary nature of public health in assessing and addressing health disparities, social determinants of health, socioeconomic status and racial/ethnic disparities, metrics of public and population health, research in public health, and interventions to improve public health of communities. It requires completing a minimum of 18 credits from three main academic areas: Health Care Administration and Public Health, Biology, and Sociology. The minor is designed to complement other majors and programs of study (e.g., psychology, biology, pre -medical studies, nursing, communication, aging studies, health care administration,exercise science, environmental studies) relative to the field of public health.
