Requirements
Pre-major Required Courses: COMM 103, COMM 120, and COMM 138.
Required Core Courses: 24 credits: COMM 200, 202, 302, 303, 313, 325, 400, and 444. (Note: COMM 444 must be taken as a 3-credit Internship to fulfill major requirements.)
Required Advanced Writing Course: 3 credits from: COMM 203, 300, 304, 309, 321, 333, 349, 352, and 362, and other communication writing classes offered on an occasional basis. (Note: COMM 202 must be taken first.)
Required Related Course: MATH 200 or MATH 205.
Early-Entry Master's Programs
Early Entry Master of Arts in Communication Program Requirements:
Students approved for the early entry MA in Communication program may take up to 12 hours of graduate course work which will be substituted for undergraduate degree requirements (double-counted for both the undergraduate and graduate degrees). Students must earn grades of B- or higher in the graduate courses to count them for both degrees.
In fall of the senior year, COMM 600 should be taken in place of an undergraduate elective, and COMM 607 may be taken in place of an undergraduate elective.
In spring of the senior year, COMM 605 may be taken in place of COMM 303, and COMM 611 may be taken in place of COMM 313.
Early Entry Master of Science in Digital Media Program Requirements:
Students approved for the early entry MS in Digital Media program may take up to 12 hours of graduate course work which will be substituted for undergraduate degree requirements (double-counted for both the undergraduate and graduate degrees). Students must earn grades of B- or higher in the graduate courses to count them for both degrees.
In fall of the senior year, COMM 600 should be taken in place of an undergraduate elective, and COMM 619 may be taken in place of COMM 319.
In spring of the senior year, COMM 609 may be taken in place of COMM 309, and COMM 613 may be taken in place of an undergraduate elective.
