Description of Program
The Bachelor of Science in Public Health contributes to the Bellarmine mission of educating the student to “improve the human condition”. The focus of this degree is to improve the health of the population using preventative health education and services, identifying health disparities in care access and delivery, and striving to ensure equitable and just access to resources for those in our communities who may be in most need of essential healthcare. Instruction is aligned with content and accreditation standards from the Council on Education for Public Health, with emphasis on environmental health sciences, biostatistics, epidemiology, health policy and management, and social and behavioral sciences. Students will integrate learned course content within an enhanced capstone course (90 hours) that will include an internship with a local public health agency or program.
