A successful student earning a minor in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies will be able to:

  1. historicize the forcible movement of people;

  2. detail how, when, why, and with what consequences the term refugee came to be applied to people forcibly displaced;

  3. identify different legal categories of people forcibly displaced; and

  4. discuss current issues related to refugees and forced migrants and place them in a historical perspective
