Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate understanding of human development, psychology, family systems, and social determinants of health, and apply this knowledge to support the health and well-being of children and families.

  2. Explain and design developmentally appropriate interventions—including therapeutic play and coping strategies within healthcare and community settings to promote resilience in children and families.

  3. Exhibit professional, clear, and culturally sensitive communication with children, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

  4. Apply ethical principles, bioethics, and legal standards to issues in healthcare, with attention to inclusivity, dignity, and patient rights.

  5. Critically evaluate healthcare and psychological research, and apply evidence-based findings to inform decision-making and improve outcomes for children and families.

  6. Synthesize knowledge and skills from coursework and applied experiences to show readiness for careers in healthcare settings.
